A Legacy Built on Trust

In 1937, Mr. Bob Sandlin left his sales manager position in Henderson, Texas, to purchase an interest in Irvin Chevrolet Co. in Mount Pleasant, TX. The dealership became Irvin-Sandlin Motors Co. and continued to grow following World War II. In 1946, the company built new facilities at the present location near Highways 271 and 67. Two years later, Mr. Sandlin purchased the remaining interest in the dealership, and the business became Bob Sandlin Motors.

In 1957, Bob Sandlin’s son, Joe W. Sandlin, joined his father in the automobile business. Joe quickly built a loyal customer base through his commitment to customer service. In 1970, the company incorporated and began doing business as Sandlin Motors, Inc., with Joe W. Sandlin serving as President and General Manager and Bob Sandlin as Vice President.

During the 1980s, Bob Sandlin retired and the third generation of the Sandlin family, Joe W. Sandlin, Jr., joined the dealership as Vice President. Joe Jr. had the benefit of learning the business from both Bob and Joe Sandlin, who passed along the values for which Sandlin Motors continues to be known: honesty, integrity, and respect.

Following the examples set by his grandfather and father, Joe Sandlin, Jr. led the business and continued the family tradition at our Chevrolet dealership in Mount Pleasant. The Sandlin legacy continued into its fourth generation when Luke Sandlin Anderson joined the business in 2005 and was named General Manager in 2007.

In January 2024, Luke Anderson became the owner and Dealer Principal of Sandlin Motors while continuing to serve as General Manager. His leadership and dedication to the family-owned dealership continue to guide the business into its next generation.
